On the set of “Elegance”

On the set of “Elegance”

Last week I was on the set of Elegance, a new short film Directed by Daniel Cohn. I was re-united with a number of people from Frankie’s music video shoot, so it was great to see them again. On the one hand, it is great to always work with the same people, but it is also nice to keep everything fresh as well.

An interesting thing about one of the actors   (who is pictured in the centre), was that before putting on the ponytail samurai wig, he just looked like a Japanese Steve Buscemi. However, once the wig went on, and the tattoo was painted on, he became this sexy warrior… and I wanted to have all his babies (not literally). It’s amazing the way some people just suit some era’s better than others. I feel the same way about Colin Firth, in Pride and Prejudice, there is just something about him in that role, in that era, that is just so sexy, but in modern productions, he just loses something. At least for me.

Also, it was interesting to find out that the Director of Photography’s brother is a famous musician and composer in Spain. Listen to his work >>

We went location scouting everywhere for this, but in the end, the Director decided on a stylised version, as you see now. I helped out with the production design, along with Hong Hahn, and the sound guy Robert! All in all, it was a great shoot. I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product.
