Short Film Tuesday: Love stories and dystopian futures

The unquestioningly obedient robot, “Blinky”

Welcome back to Short Film Tuesday. This week we’ve got the fan-film to beat all fan-film’s, “Portal: No Escape”, a dystopian heaven in “Welcome to Life: The Singularity as ruined by lawyers”, a heartbreaking commercial for Thai Life Insurance “Silence of Love”, a charming hipster documentary “Sweet Pea – Drowning in Frivolity”, the disturbing robot fantasy, “Blinky” featuring Max Records from “Where the Wild Things Are”, and finally a film study into first love in “Love Stories”.

Before watching “Silence of Love”, please click on the “CC” button for the English subtitles. To anyone scared of watching a film in another language, shame on you! I implore you to look past your narrow little boundaries into the wonderful world beyond.

I hope you enjoy this week’s selection, and once again, I would love to hear from you what is worth watching. I’m always looking for great new short films. Please tweet me @hcharlesdownie!
